LOCATION
Next to the National Art Museum in the beautiful Rua das Janelas Verdes is a small palace dating from the end of the 18th century called the As Janelas Verdes (Green Windows). The house deserves to be discovered slowly, little by little, all the time savoring its gentle, romantic, welcoming atmosphere.
Eca de Queirós, the famous Portuguese novelist, is connected to the hotel by tradition and there are those who say that he lived and found inspiration here in this palace for another magical home - "O Ramalhete" in his novel "Os Maias".
The memory of his presence is still very much alive in the atmosphere; we find ourselves immersed in small objects d'art, books, paintings, and mementos that take us back to another era now being relived.
